Hey there! My name is Julia Tung I enjoy hiking, watching nature documentaries, STEM outreach and accessibility within technology.
Education
I started my undergraduate education at the University of Connecticut, studying Mechanical Engineering, but when the pandemic hit halfway through my freshman year, my creative side had time to flourish. I transferred to the ATLAS Institute at the University of Colorado, Boulder, to receive a degree in Creative Technology and Design, with a certificate in Engineering Ethics and Society focusing on blending technology and creativity to solve the world's wicked problems.
As a kid I loved building LEGOs, priding myself on the completion of age 16+ builds since I was 8. Constantly looking for other methods for solving a jigsaw puzzle, ie. row by row, section by section, and even with the cardboard side facing up to focus solely on the shape of the pieces. Growing up as the youngest of 3 with my father, the engineer, and my mother constantly pushing me to find new outlets for my creativity, conditioned me to think about how things are made as well as looking outside of the box, offering a new perspective.
